Cefcanel 

Cefcanel is an orally active cephalosporin and antibacterial agent. Cefcanel inhibits growth of methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus epidermidis, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis. Cefcanel acts as a substrate hydrolyzed by TEM-1, TEM-3, and Moraxella Bro-1 beta-lactamases^[1].

Cefcanel (18-20 h) exhibits potent in vitro activity against a variety of aerobic Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-sensitive *Staphylococcus aureus* (MIC₉₀ 1 μg/mL) and methicillin-sensitive *Staphylococcus epidermidis* (MIC₉₀ 1 μg/mL)^[1].
Cefcanel (18-20 h) exhibits variable in vitro activity against aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. It shows potent activity against *Klebsiella pneumoniae* (MIC₉₀ 2 μg/mL), *Citrobacter diversus* (MIC₉₀ 2 μg/mL), *Aeromonas hydrophila* (MIC₉₀ 1 μg/mL), *Haemophilus influenzae* (MIC₉₀ 1 μg/mL) and *Moraxella catarrhalis* (MIC₉₀ 1 μg/mL), but is inactive against *Serratia marcescens*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and *Acinetobacter calcoaceticus*^[1].
