3-Hydroxy-2-methylpyridine (10-5-10-2 M) acts as a mixed-type corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 1 M HCl. Its corrosion inhibition efficiency increases with rising concentration (reaching 91.1% at 10-2 M and 303 K, 95.3% at 10-2 M and 313 K, and 95.4% at 10-2 M and 323 K), and shows a slight increase with elevated temperature across all tested concentrations[2].
3-Hydroxy-2-methylpyridine (10-5-10-2 M) reduces the corrosion rate of carbon steel in 1 M HCl in a concentration-dependent manner; the corrosion inhibition efficiency measured by the weight loss method reaches 89.8% at 10-2 M and 303 K, 92.4% at 10-2 M and 313 K, and 94.1% at 10-2 M and 323 K, and the obtained results are highly consistent with those from polarization measurements[2].
The adsorption behavior of 3-Hydroxy-2-methylpyridine (10-5-10-2 M) on carbon steel in a 1 M HCl system shows concentration dependence[2].

Add each solvent one by one: 10% DMSO 40% PEG300 5% Tween-80 45% Saline

This protocol yields a clear solution of ≥ 5 mg/mL (saturation unknown).
Taking 1 mL working solution as an example, add 100 μL DMSO stock solution (50.0 mg/mL) to 400 μL PEG300, and mix evenly; then add 50 μL Tween-80 and mix evenly; then add 450 μL Saline to adjust the volume to 1 mL.
Preparation of Saline: Dissolve 0.9 g sodium chloride in ddH₂O and dilute to 100 mL to obtain a clear Saline solution.
Add each solvent one by one: 10% DMSO 90% (20% SBE-β-CD in Saline)
Solubility: ≥ 5 mg/mL (45.82 mM); Clear solution
This protocol yields a clear solution of ≥ 5 mg/mL (saturation unknown).
Taking 1 mL working solution as an example, add 100 μL DMSO stock solution (50.0 mg/mL) to 900 μL 20% SBE-β-CD in Saline, and mix evenly.
Preparation of 20% SBE-β-CD in Saline (4°C, storage for one week): 2 g SBE-β-CD powder is dissolved in 10 mL Saline, completely dissolve until clear.
