Movronersen
Movronersen (BIIB-101; ION-464) is an antisense oligonucleotide that targets SNCA; it promotes the degradation of SNCA mRNA and downregulates the synthesis of α-synuclein. By reducing the production of α-synuclein, Movronersen decreases protein misfolding and aggregation, thereby interfering with the pathological progression of synucleinopathies. Movronersen is used in research related to multiple system atrophy and associated disorders.
