CD93

CD93 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the C-type lectin family (group XIV), also known as complement component C1q receptor-1, expressed on endothelial cells, monocytes, neutrophils, platelets and hematopoietic stem cells. Its extracellular region contains a C-type lectin-like domain, five EGF-like repeats and a mucin-like stretch that binds C1q and mannose-binding lectin. The protein participates in complement-mediated clearance of apoptotic cells, supports cell adhesion and migration, and promotes intercellular junction formation in the vasculature. Soluble CD93 released by cleavage is elevated in sepsis, and CD93 marks angiogenic endothelium and myeloid leukemia blasts.
