Gibberellin A9
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Gibberellin A9 is a plant hormone that targets gibberellin receptor GID1. Gibberellin A9 binds to GID1 to form a GA-GID1-DELLA protein complex, which promotes the degradation of DELLA proteins. This relieves the inhibitory effect of DELLA proteins on plant growth, thereby promoting plant cell elongation and division, and increasing seed germination rate. Gibberellin A9 is promising for use in studies on plant growth and development, such as stem elongation and flowering induction.

Biological Activity
Gibberellin A9 is efficiently transported from injected ovaries to sepals/petals and stigmas (but not to pedicels), and is converted into bioactive d2-GA4 (HY-N8440) in these tissues of female cucumber (Cucumis sativus) 'Hokus' cultivar[1].
Application of Gibberellin A9 to petals fully rescues the developmentally arrested female flowers of Cucumis sativus var. 'Hokus' caused by sense CmGA2ox1 expression in ovaries, and GA9 is converted into bioactive GA4 in sepal/petal/stigma tissues[1].
Gibberellin A9 (1-100 μg/L; 7 days) promotes the elongation of the first and second leaf sheaths of dwarf-3 maize seedlings[2].
Gibberellin A9 (0.3-10 mg/L; 4 days) promotes seed germination of Rapid-cycling lettuce under complete dark conditions[2].
Gibberellin A9 (10-300 μg/L; 4 days) promotes hypocotyl elongation of rapid-growing lettuce[2].
Gibberellin A9 (10-10-10-8 M; 8 h) inhibits archegonium formation in Lygodium japonicum gametophytes grown under light conditions, with an inhibition rate of 36% at 10-9 M and 96% at 10-8 M[3].
Gibberellin A9 (10-10-10-6 M; 7 h) induces the formation of antheridia in dark-cultivated Lygodium japonicum filamentous prothalli, with a formation rate of 80% at 10-7 M and up to 98% at 10-6 M[3].
