Cefovecin sodium (0.06-32 μg/mL; 16-48 h) exhibits broad-spectrum in vitro activity against most aerobic and anaerobic bacterial clinical isolates from dogs and cats associated with skin, urinary tract, and periodontal infections, with MIC90 values as low as ≤0.06 μg/ml (for Pasteurella multocida, U.S. beta-hemolytic streptococci, U.S. Streptococcus canis, and U.S. Porphyromonas spp.) and 0.25 μg/ml (for Staphylococcus intermedius, EU and U.S.), but shows negligible activity against Enterococcus spp. (MIC90 >32 μg/ml) and limited activity against Acinetobacter baumannii[1].
Cefovecin sodium (0.06-32 μg/mL; 16-48 h) exhibits bactericidal activity against most tested aerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial isolates from dogs and cats, with MBC:MIC ratios ≤2 for the majority of isolates, while anaerobic isolates show higher MBC:MIC ratios[1].
