Single oral doses of simmondsin 2'-ferulate (250-500 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) cause no mortality or toxicity signs in rats but significantly decrease ALP, LDH, and CPK activities and T₃, FSH, and testosterone concentrations, with the effects being more pronounced at 500 mg/kg^[1].

Lowered FSH concentration at 250 mg/kg (4.00 mU/mL) and 500 mg/kg (3.87 mU/mL) compared to control (4.24 mU/mL).
Decreased testosterone concentration at 250 mg/kg (3.65 ng/mL) and 500 mg/kg (3.61 ng/mL) compared to control (3.72 ng/mL).
