In Vitro
SOS1, or SOS1 guanine nucleotide exchange factor, is a key positive regulator of the RAS signaling pathway. It catalyzes the release of GDP from RAS proteins and the binding of GTP, thereby activating RAS. SOS1 expression is aberrant in various KRAS-mutant cancers, making it an important target for developing drugs targeting the KRAS pathway. pERK/pS6 refers to phosphorylated ERK and phosphorylated S6 ribosomal proteins, downstream phosphorylation markers of the MAPK/ERK and mTOR signaling pathways, respectively. Changes in their levels are commonly used to assess the activation status of intracellular RAS/MAPK and PI3K/mTOR signaling pathways and the effects of drug targets.
