Soluble epoxide hydrolases (sEHs) are key hydrolases involved in the metabolism of epoxide fatty acids. They catalyze the hydrolysis of biologically active epoxide fatty acids into inactive dihydroxy compounds, regulating physiological processes such as vasodilation, inflammation, and pain. They are research targets for cardiovascular protection and pain management. Azide functionalization of molecules involves introducing azido groups (-N3) at specific positions in organic molecules through chemical synthesis. Azide groups possess unique chemical properties and high biological inertness, enabling them to undergo highly efficient and specific azido-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAC click chemistry) with terminal alkynes under copper catalysis. These reactions are widely used in drug conjugate synthesis, bioprobe labeling, and material functionalization.
