Handling Instructions

M1145, a chimeric peptide, is a selective galanin receptor type 2 (GAL2) agonist, with a Ki of 6.55 nM. M1145 shows more than 90-fold higher affinity for GAL2 over GAL1 (Ki=587 nM) and a 76-fold higher affinity over GalR3 (Ki=497 nM). M1145 has an additive effect on the signal transduction of galanin.

Description

M1145, a chimeric peptide, is a selective galanin receptor type 2 (GAL2) agonist, with a Ki of 6.55 nM. M1145 shows more than 90-fold higher affinity for GAL2 over GAL1 (Ki=587 nM) and a 76-fold higher affinity over GalR3 (Ki=497 nM). M1145 has an additive effect on the signal transduction of galanin[1].

In Vitro

M1145 has an additive effect on the signal transduction of galanin, are concentrations of M1145 of 0.1 μM and higher all give a maximum transduction. Signal transduction was examined by assessing the ability to stimulate inositol phosphates (IP) production in CHO cells expressing GalR2. Treatment with M1145, which stimulates IP production with an EC50 of 38 nM[1].

MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
