Movronersen sodium
Movronersen sodium (BIIB-101 sodium; ION-464 sodium) is an antisense oligonucleotide that targets SNCA; it promotes the degradation of SNCA mRNA and downregulates the synthesis of α-synuclein. By reducing the production of α-synuclein, Movronersen sodium decreases protein misfolding and aggregation, thereby interfering with the pathological progression of synucleinopathies. Movronersen sodium is used in research related to multiple system atrophy and associated disorders.
