NIAD-4 is a blood-brain barrier permeable fluorophore for optical imaging of amyloid-β (Aβ) in the central nervous system (CNS) for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). NIAD-4 binds to the same Aβ site with the binding affinity (Ki) of 10 nM.

Biological Activity
NIAD-4 binds to amyloid aggregates, hinders its internal rotation, increases its fluorescence quantum yield and fluorescence intensity, thereby making it an effective tool for detecting amyloid. NIAD-4 can cross the blood-brain barrier, and used for amyloid fibrils imaging in brains due to its charge neutrality and low molecular weight. NIAD-4 exhibits an excitation wavelength of 475 nM and an emission wavelength of 610 nM[2][3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
