Description

NOC-5 is a diazeniumdiolate compound that belongs to the same family of NO donors[1].

In Vitro

NOC-5 (5-20 μM) in PBS led to a rapid increase in NO release on day one[1].
NOC-5 (100 μM, 24 h) activates only caspase-3; an increase in caspase-3 activity occurred after NO donor treatment: 1.62 (1.57-1.66) (P < 0.05). NOC-5 has pro-apoptotic action in Jurkat cells, but at the same time increased the level of anti-apoptotic proteins[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
