P-2281 is a mTOR inhibitor with anticancer and anti-inflammatory efficacies. P2281 inhibits mTOR activity in colon cancer cells. P-2281 suppresses Dextran sulfate sodium salt (HY-116282C) (DSS)-induced colitis by inhibiting T cell function and is efficacious in a murine model of human colitis.

Animal Model:C57BL/6J mice (6 wk of age, weighing 18-22 g) by giving 3% (wt/vol) DSS in drinking water[1].

Dosage:15 mg/kg

Administration:ip; daily; for 10 days

Result:Significantly inhibited DSS-induced weight loss, improved rectal bleeding index, decreased disease activity index, and reversed DSS-induced shortening of the colon.
Distinctly attenuated DSS-induced edema, prominently diminished the leukocyte infiltration in the colonic mucosa.
Blocked DSS-induced activation of mTOR.
