Pentifylline
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Pentifylline (1-Hexyltheobromine; Hexyltheobromine), PTX (HY-B0715) precursor compound, is a vasodilator. Pentifylline decreases procollagen levels and inhibits collagen production. Pentifylline reduces functional nuclear NF-1 to suppress procollagen gene transcription.

Biological Activity
Pentifylline (1-100 μg/mL; 48 h) potently inhibits collagen production in normal adult dermal fibroblasts with an ID50 of approximately 10 μg/mL[2].
Pentifylline (100 μg/mL; 48 h) decreases extracellular type I procollagen by 76% and type III procollagen by 97% in normal adult dermal fibroblasts[2].
Pentifylline (100 μg/mL; 48 h) decreases steady-state procollagen α1(I), α2(I), and α1(III) mRNA levels by 95%, 80%, and 98% respectively in normal adult dermal fibroblasts, an effect dependent on new protein synthesis[2].
Pentifylline (100 μg/mL; 48 h) eliminates detectable nuclear NF-1 DNA-binding activity in normal adult dermal fibroblasts, without directly blocking NF-1-DNA interactions[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Line:normal adult dermal fibroblasts (from facial and mammary skin, third to ninth passages)
-
Concentration:100 μg/mL

Select the appropriate dissolution method based on your experimental animal and administration route.
- For the following dissolution methods, please ensure to first prepare a clear stock solution using an In Vitro approach and then sequentially add co-solvents:
- To ensure reliable experimental results, the clarified stock solution can be appropriately stored based on storage conditions. As for the working solution for In Vivo experiments, it is recommended to prepare freshly and use it on the same day.
- The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
