In Vitro

(S)-HPMPApp is a good substrate for vaccinia DNA polymerase, readily incorporating into the DNA strand without causing strand termination; instead, it exerts its inhibitory effect by inhibiting 3'-to-5' exonuclease activity and blocking template strand elongation[1].
(S)-HPMPA (1-100 μg/mL, 24-72 h) can effectively inhibit viral replication in primary rabbit kidney cells[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
