Biological Activity
UCB-35440 (0.3-10% w/v; topical; twice daily; 8 doses) inhibits chronic PMA-induced mouse ear inflammation[1].
UCB-35440 (10 mg/kg; oral; twice daily) significantly inhibits Histamine (HY-B1204)-induced dermal extravasation in guinea pigs[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Animal Model:CD-1 mice (Crl:CD-1 (ICR) BR) (female, 8-10 weeks old, acute PMA-induced dermatitis model)[1]
-
Dosage:0.3% w/v; 1% w/v; 3% w/v
-
Administration:topical; 4 h
-
Result:Inhibited PMA-induced ear weight gain by 57% at the 3% w/v dose.
Produced moderate reduction of polymorphonuclear cell infiltration and edema at the 3% w/v dose.
-
Animal Model:CD-1 mice (Crl:CD-1 (ICR) BR) (female, 8-10 weeks old, chronic PMA-induced dermatitis model)[1]
-
Dosage:0.3% w/v; 1% w/v; 3% w/v; 10% w/v
-
Administration:topical; twice daily; 8 doses
-
Result:Inhibited PMA-induced ear weight gain by 43% at the 3% w/v dose.
Produced substantial reduction of inflammatory/immune cell infiltrate and edema at the 3% w/v dose.
Showed no apparent effect on epidermal hyperplasia at the 3% w/v dose.
-
Animal Model:Hartley Guinea pigs (male, 350-400 g, ~4-5 weeks old, histamine-induced dermal extravasation model)[1]
-
Dosage:10 mg/kg
-
Administration:oral; twice daily
-
Result:Produced minimal inhibition of Histamine-induced dermal extravasation with single-dose regimens.
Produced highly significant inhibition (P<0.001) of extravasation induced by 0.1 μg and 1.0 μg Histamine with the 2-dose (24 h + 2 h pre-challenge) regimen.
Produced substantial inhibition (P<0.001) of extravasation induced by 0.1 μg, 1.0 μg, and 10.0 μg Histamine with the 5.5-day twice-daily regimen.
