Fukinolic acid
Fukinolic acid is a benzyltartaric acid ester, is a vasodilator with antiviral activity against enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) replication. Fukinolic acid is a receptor-operated Ca2+ channels (ROC) inhibitor, suppressing extracellular Ca2+ influx through ROC activated by Norepinephrine (HY-13715) without affecting voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels.

Biological Activity
Fukinolic acid (300 μM; 1 h; rat aortic strips) induces relaxation of Norepinephrine-precontracted rat aortic strips with endothelium independence and suppresses Ca2+-induced contraction in Norepinephrine-preincubated rat aortic strips via extracellular Ca2+ influx inhibition[1].
Fukinolic acid (4.3 µg/mL; 4 days) reduces EV71 BrCr virus-induced cytopathic effect by 50% and causes 50% cytotoxicity at 500 µg/mL[2].
Fukinolic acid (0-230 µM; 16 h; COS-1) does not inhibit EV-A71 3C protease activity[2].
