Parsalmide
Parsalmide is an orally active non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and gastroprotective agent, with an IC50 of 9.92 μM against COX-1 and 155 μM against COX-2. Parsalmide prevents gastric injury and reduces edema. Parsalmide can be used in the research of arthritis.

Parsalmide (0.01 nM-0.1 mM; 45 min) potently inhibits purified ovine COX-1 with an IC50 of 9.92 μM, and also inhibits purified ovine COX-2 with an IC50 of 155 μM, showing a 16-fold higher selectivity for COX-1 over COX-2[1].

In Vivo
Parsalmide (100 mg/kg; p.o.; single administration) does not induce acute gastric injury in rats at its effective anti-inflammatory dose of 100 mg/kg[1].
