Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium, 100X (ITS-G) is a mixture of Insulin, transferrin, and sodium selenite that is a general supplement designed for use in classic media such as DMEM, RPMI-1640, and nutrient media such as Ham's F-12, DMEM/F-12. Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium is added to basal medium to reduce the amount of fetal calf serum required to culture cells.

Biological Activity
Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium, 100X (1%) can be supplement for DMEM/F12 medium together with 10% FBS, 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin (HY-B1906) and 40 ng/mL Dexamethasone (HY-14648) to culture AML-12 hepatocyte cells[1].
Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium, 100X (4 mL/L) is added to supplement F12 medium together with 5 g/L D-glucose (HY-B0389), 10 mM HEPES (HY-D0857), 7.5 mM L-glutamine (HY-N0390), and 1% FBS to culture HEK293 EBNA cells and CHO-s cells[2].
