KS-99 (Compound 11) (0.5-50 μM; 48 h) potently inhibits the viability of HT29, A549 and UACC903 cancer cells, with IC₅₀ values of 1.14 μM, 2.53 μM and 2.23 μM, respectively; it shows significantly lower activity against MCF-7 cells and exhibits low toxicity toward normal MEF cells after 48 h of treatment^[1].
KS-99 (1.25-5.0 μM; 24 h) induces dose-dependent apoptosis in human colon cancer cell line HT29, with 66.98% of cells undergoing apoptosis after treatment with 5.0 μM for 24 h^[1].
KS-99 (1.25-5.0 μM; 24 h) dose-dependently activates caspase-3/7 in human colon cancer cell line HT29, confirming that it induces the apoptotic pathway^[1].
KS-99 (5 μM; 48 h) induces DNA fragmentation in human colon cancer cell line HT29^[1].
KS-99 (1-2 μM; 24 h) downregulates the total Akt protein level in human HT29 colon cancer cells, and completely abolishes Akt phosphorylation following 24 h of treatment at concentrations of 1 μM and 2 μM, acting as a potent inhibitor of the Akt pathway^[1].
