Panowamycin A exhibits antitrypanosomal activity against the Trypanosoma brucei brucei GUTat 3.1 strain (IC₅₀: 0.40 μg/mL). Panowamycin A shows weak cytotoxicity towards human fetal lung fibroblast MRC-5 cells (IC₅₀: 2.95 μg/mL). Panowamycin A can be used for research in the field of antitrypanosomal studies.
