Description

Pulchinenoside K (Compound 4) is a triterpenoid saponin. Pulchinenoside K can be isolated from the roots of *Pulsatilla koreana*. Pulchinenoside K inhibits NO production. Pulchinenoside K can be used for the research of inflammatory diseases[1].

In Vitro

Pulchinenoside K (1-100 μM; 1 h pre-treatment + 24 h LPS co-incubation) significantly inhibits LPS-induced NO production in RAW 264.7 cells at concentrations of 1 μM and 10 μM, and a decrease in cell viability is observed at all tested concentrations[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Viability Assay[1]

Cell Line: RAW 264.7 macrophage cells
Concentration: 1 μM, 10 μM, 100 μM
Incubation Time: 25 h (total: 1 h pre-treatment + 24 h LPS co-incubation)
Result: Reduced relative NO production to 79.1% with a cell viability of 87.5% at 1 μM (significantly reduced compared to LPS-only control, p < 0.05).
Reduced relative NO production to 63.1% with a cell viability of 74.5% at 10 μM (significantly reduced, p < 0.01).
Reduced relative NO production to 79.1% with a cell viability of 51.5% at 100 μM.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
