Description

SePP is a blood-brain barrier-permeable NMDAR antagonist and dopamine/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, with a Ki of 28.7 nM for rat NMDAR. SePP exerts anticonvulsant effects. SePP can be used in research related to fragile X syndrome[1].

IC50 & Target[1]

NMDA Receptor

28.7 nM (Ki)

In Vitro

SePP (multiple concentrations; 2 h) potently binds to rat forebrain NMDARs with a Ki of 28.7 nM[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Parmacokinetics
Species Dose Route Plasma Concentration
Mice[1] 10 mg/kg i.p. 387.5 ng/mL
In Vivo

SePP (10 mg/kg; i.p.) completely suppresses audiogenic seizures in juvenile Fmr1 knockout mice[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: FVB.129P2-Pde6b+ Tyrc‑ch Fmr1tm1Cgr/J (Fmr1 knockout, 4 male and 4 female, postnatal day 23-25, audiogenic seizure induction)[1]
Dosage: 10 mg/kg
Administration: i.p.; single dose
Result: Abolished wild running and jumping (WRJ), tonic-clonic seizure (TCS), and respiratory arrest (RA) in all treated mice, with statistically significant differences compared to vehicle controls (P < 0.0001 for WRJ and TCS, P = 0.0013 for RA).
Exhibited normal behaviors including exploring, rearing, grooming, and interacting with cage-mates during testing.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
