SIB-1281
SIB-1281 is a β-secretase inhibitor that inhibits β-site cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and reduces the production of Aβ peptides. SIB-1281 decreases the generation of Aβ40 and Aβ42, and promotes the secretion of α-sAPP. SIB-1281 can be used in studies related to Alzheimer's disease.

Biological Activity
SIB-1281 inhibits Aβ40 and Aβ42 production with an IC50 of 800 nM, potentiates α-sAPP secretion with an EC50 of 650 nM, and does not alter APP holoprotein levels in human glioblastoma cells transfected with wild-type or mutant APP695 cDNAs[1].
SIB-1281 (16 h) inhibits over 95% of all measured Aβ peptide variant production and increases α-sAPP secretion by ~10-fold in human glioblastoma cells stably expressing Swedish/Indiana mutant APP[1].
