WF-2421 (2 minutes) potently inhibits partially purified rabbit lens aldose reductase with an IC₅₀ of 0.03 μM, acting as an uncompetitive inhibitor relative to DL-glyceraldehyde (HY-128748)^[1].
WF-2421 sodium salt exhibits no antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Trichophyton asteroides, or Candida albicans at 1 mg/mL^[1].
