Crufomate
Crufomate is an organophosphate insecticide. Crufomate is used to control warble fly maggot infections and botfly infestations in dairy cows, and accumulates in milk fat. Crufomate reduces mating responses, conception rates, pup survival rates, and post-weaning body weights of offspring in mice. Crufomate is used in studies related to botfly infestations and gastrointestinal parasitic infections.

Biological Activity
Crufomate (19.1-21.2 mg/kg; topical; single application) results in mean milk residues that fall below the 0.05 mg/kg Codex limit within 24 hours post-treatment, with residue accumulation in fat-rich milk products leading to higher concentrations relative to whole milk in lactating dairy cows[2].
Crufomate (50.8 mg/kg; topical; single dose) demonstrates no anthelmintic effect on abomasal helminths and erratic, questionable efficacy on intestinal helminths in calves with mixed gastrointestinal parasite infections[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model:White virgin female mice (10-12 weeks old; reproductive toxicity model via dermal exposure before mating)[1]
-
Dosage:100 mg/kg (2 treatments; 4 treatments); 50 mg/kg (2 treatments; 4 treatments)
-
Administration:dermal; 2 doses 14 days apart; 4 total doses 14 days apart
-
Result:Reduced mating response to 30% (100 mg/kg, 2 treatments) and 50% (50 mg/kg, 2 treatments).
Slashed conception rate to 10% at 50 and 100 mg/kg (2 treatments).
Left only one pregnant mouse per 2-treatment group; the 100 mg/kg mouse died mid-pregnancy, and the 50 mg/kg mouse lost all pups within one week after birth.
Lessened female pup weaning weight to 12.0 g (100 mg/kg, 4 treatments).
Cut male pup weaning weight to 11.7 g (100 mg/kg, 4 treatments).
Had no effect on adult pup weight at all doses and treatment regimens.
Altered none of pup weaning/adult weight, mating response, conception rate or litter survival (50 mg/kg, 4 treatments).
