Gluconapin potassium
Gluconapin (3-Butenyl glucosinolate) potassium is an orally active aliphatic glucosinolate and also a flavor modifier. Gluconapin potassium inhibits the elevation of plasma triglyceride levels in mice. Gluconapin potassium also exhibits certain antibacterial activity.

Biological Activity
Gluconapin (4 mM) potassium exhibits weak inhibitory activity against porcine pancreatic lipase, inhibiting only 5.7% of the enzyme activity[2].
Gluconapin (0.15-3.0 μL/mL; 18 h) potassium dose-dependently inhibits the growth of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris race 4 strain HRI1279A in vitro[3].

Dosage:40 μmol/kg (14.9 mg/kg); 80 μmol/kg (29.8 mg/kg)
-
Administration:p.o.; single dose (immediately before corn oil loading)
-
Result:Showed a non-statistically significant tendency to decrease plasma triglyceride levels at 4-8 hours after administration (40 μmol/kg).
Significantly suppressed the elevation of plasma triglyceride levels at 3-8 hours after administration, and reduced the 8-hour area under the plasma triglyceride concentration curve (AUC) to 61.5 ± 6.8% of the control value (p < 0.05 vs.control) (80 μmol/kg).
