Ranakinin
Ranakinin is a NK1R agonist. Ranakinin inhibits the binding of selective NK1 radioligands to NK1 receptors. Ranakinin activates phospholipase C (Phospholipase C), thereby enhancing polyphosphoinositide hydrolysis. Ranakinin stimulates inositol phosphate production and reduces membrane polyphosphoinositide levels. Ranakinin stimulates corticosterone and aldosterone secretion.

Ranakinin potently binds to and inhibits the binding of selective tachykinin NK1 receptor radioligands to membrane binding sites in rat submandibular glands, with an IC50 of 1.6 nM[1].
Ranakinin (10-9-10-5 M; 20 sec) stimulates the production of IP3, IP2 and IP1 in a time- and dose-dependent manner, and decreases the concentrations of PIP2 and PIP in a time- and dose-dependent manner, with no effect on PI levels, in myo-[3H]inositol-prelabeled adrenal tissues of Rana ridibunda[2].
Ranakinin (10-5 M; 20 min) doubles the secretions of corticosterone and aldosterone from perfused adrenal explants of Rana ridibunda[2].
Ranakinin (at different competitor concentrations; incubated for 60 min at 25 °C) binds to bufokinin (bNK1) receptors in intestinal smooth muscle membrane homogenates of Bufo marinus, with an IC50 of 2.8 nM, exhibiting high binding affinity almost comparable to that of bufokinin[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
