Isomaltose
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Isomaltose (6-O-α-D-Glucopyranosyl-D-glucose) is a glucose disaccharide. Isomaltose induces G-CSF secretion via heat-induced oxidative polymerization of glucose groups into high-molecular-weight compounds. Isomaltose modulates cecal bacterial cluster structure in mice. Isomaltose exhibits low glycemic index, slow hydrolysis, and prebiotic properties. Isomaltose reduces in vivo Cryptosporidium parvum colonization in neonatal mice. Isomaltose can be used for the research of Cryptosporidium parvum infection.

Isomaltose (0.4-250 µg/mL; 24 h cell incubation, varied heating conditions) induces G-CSF secretion in MCE301 intestinal epithelial cells via TLR4 activation, with optimal heating conditions at 150°C for 240 min, 180°C for 60 min, or 200°C for 15-30 min, and dose-dependent activity at 0.4-250 µg/mL[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Line:MCE301 intestinal epithelial cells

Concentration:0.4-250 µg/mL (G-CSF induction); 100 µg/mL (TLR inhibition assay); 250 µg/mL (temperature-time optimization)
-
Incubation Time:24 h
-
Result:Induced G-CSF secretion in a dose-dependent manner at 0.4-250 µg/mL.
Showed no effect at 120°C across 10-240 min.
Induced G-CSF secretion only after 240 min at 150°C.
Increased activity time-dependently up to 60 min (maximal effect) then diminished at 180°C; lost effect after 240 min of heating. Increased activity from 15-30 min then lost effect at 60 min at 200°C.
Had G-CSF secretion-inducing activity significantly inhibited by sparstolonin B (TLR2/TLR4 inhibitor) and TAK-242 (TLR4 inhibitor) at 100 µg/mL.

Animal Model:BALB/c (7 days old, infant, challenged with Cryptosporidium parvum)[3]
-
Dosage:5 g/10 mL solution

Administration:p.o.; single dose
-
Result:Recorded a fecal oocyst score of 1.39, with 8/9 mice positive for fecal oocysts; measured an ileal histology score of 1.22, with 7/9 mice positive for ileal infection; observed marked vacuolation of the small intestinal epithelium 1 day after treatment, which resolved to normal appearance by 3 days after treatment.
