Product information
This product is extracted from porcine plasma, with a protein content of ≥85% (biuret). It can hydrolyze fibrinogen and is used as a raw material for blood coagulation diagnostic reagents for detecting fibrinogen content, as well as a pharmaceutical raw material for treating gastrointestinal bleeding.
Instructions
Prepare a thrombin solution containing 100 U/mL with 0.1% (w/v) BSA solution. The enzyme activity of the stored solution can be retained for one week at 0-4°C.
Thrombin, Pig blood is a key enzyme in the coagulation cascade, responsible for converting fibrinogen into fibrin. Thrombin, Pig blood activates platelet activation, endothelial cell function, and inflammatory responses by binding to PAR-1 and PAR-4, which triggers G protein-coupled signaling pathways. Thrombin, Pig blood holds promise for research in coagulation and inflammation fields[2][3].
Thrombin, Pig blood exhibits a good affinity to thrombomodulin TM456 with a KD of 1.6 nM, which converts the procoagulant activity of Thrombin, Pig blood into anticoagulant and antiplasmin properties[4].
Thrombin, Pig blood induces PAR1-related intracellular Ca2+ release in cell MDA-MB 231 and A549 with EC50s of 2.57 nM and 0.53 nM[5].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Platelets were treated with Fc fragment, Thrombin (1 µg/mL; 2 h), EphB1‐Fc, Thrombin + EphB1‐Fc, mono EphB1, mono EphB1 + EphB1‐Fc, or EFNB1 Ab + EphB1‐Fc. Platelets without treatment served as controls. CD62P expression in activated platelets was tested by flow cytometry analysis. Representative flow cytometry analysis of CD62P expression is presented on the left. The right graph shows the percentage of CD62P+ platelets. Data were presented as the means ± SD, with n = 3 per group.
