Tschimganin
Tschimganin is an orally active monoterpene benzoate natural product with antibacterial and other activities. Tschimganin reverses the drug resistance of Staphylococcus aureus and exerts antibacterial, membrane-disrupting, biofilm-inhibiting, and anti-inflammatory effects. Tschimganin acts as an Estrogen Receptor agonist, increases uterine mass and water content and affects ovarian mass in juvenile rats. Tschimganin is useful for research on bacterial infections and also serves as an intermediate for research on organic synthesis.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Tschimganin can serve as a lead compound for the design and synthesis of a series of novel terpene ester derivatives containing a bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane structure, and most analogues exhibit moderate to excellent insecticidal activity against Aphis gossypii[3].
