Handling Instructions Technical Support

Candicidin (≥50%) (Levorin (≥50%)) is an Antifungal antibiotic. Candicidin (≥50%) exhibits potent antifungal activity against yeasts and yeast-like fungi, such as Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Low concentrations of Candicidin (≥50%) do not adversely affect pea seed germination.

Description

Candicidin (≥50%) (Levorin (≥50%)) is an Antifungal antibiotic. Candicidin (≥50%) exhibits potent antifungal activity against yeasts and yeast-like fungi, such as Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Low concentrations of Candicidin (≥50%) do not adversely affect pea seed germination[1].

In Vitro

Candicidin (≥50%) (2–5 days) exhibits potent antifungal activity against yeasts and yeast-like fungi, such as Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae[1].
Candicidin (≥50%) (50-1000 μg/mL; 5-6 days) does not inhibit pea seed germination at concentrations ≤125 μg/mL, but significantly reduced seed germination rate and root length only at concentrations ≥500 μg/mL[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Candicidin (≥50%) (79-663 mg/kg; s.c.; i.p.) produces LD50 values in healthy albino mice and caused necrosis at the injection site above a specific dose threshold [1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
