7-Hydroxyisoflavone is an enterovirus replication inhibitor. 7-Hydroxyisoflavone inhibits enterovirus 71 viral RNA synthesis, viral protein synthesis, and early replication steps. 7-Hydroxyisoflavone also inhibits coxsackievirus replication. 7-Hydroxyisoflavone enhances AMPK activity and prevents serum-induced reduction of AMPK phosphorylation. 7-Hydroxyisoflavone can be used in research related to enterovirus infection.

7-Hydroxyisoflavone (1.05-16.79 μM; 24 h) reduces EV71 (SHZH98) VP1 protein synthesis in Vero cells in a dose-dependent manner[1].
7-Hydroxyisoflavone (3.11 μM; 0-6 h) acts on the early steps of EV71 (SHZH98) replication in Vero cells and exhibits significant antiviral activity[1].
7-Hydroxyisoflavone (48 h) inhibits coxsackieviruses B2, B3, and B6 in Vero cells, with IC50 values of 13.94, 17.04, and 10.03 μM[1].
7-Hydroxyisoflavone (40 μM) activates AMPK in a cell-free AMPK α1β1γ1 kinase assay, producing 108% relative AMPK activity[2].
7-Hydroxyisoflavone (40 μM; 30 min) activates AMPK in 3T3L1 preadipocytes by preventing the reduction of 10% fetal bovine serum-induced AMPK Thr172 phosphorylation[2].
