Antimalarial agent 23 is an antimalarial benzimidazole with IC₅₀s of 0.08 μM and 0.10 μM for PfNF54 and PfK1, respectively. Antimalarial agent 23 has potent β-hematin inhibition activity. Antimalarial agent 23 does not directly inhibit the conversion of heme to hemozoin.
