Description

Flutropium bromide (Ba 598Br) is a organic bromide salt of flutropium. Flutropium bromide shows an anticholinergic effect. Flutropium bromide effectively suppresses spasms and it can be used for the research of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Flutropium bromide is more effective than atropine in vitro experiments[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Flutropium bromide (0.0003%; single inhalation) inhibits the acetylcholine induced bronchoconstriction without changing the fall in blood pressure in guinea pigs[1].
Flutropium bromide (3 and 10 mg/kg; i.v.) shows a weak mast cell stabilizing action, but no antagonistic action against LTD4 and serotonin[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Guinea pigs[2]
Dosage: 3 and 10 mg/kg
Administration: Intravenous injection; 3 and 10 mg/kg once
Result: Showed an inhibitory action on the 48 hours homologous PCA and inhibited the release of histamine from isolated rat mast cells stimulated by antigen in guinea pigs.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
