PTP1B-IN-34 is an orally active, selective, non-competitive PTP1B inhibitor, with an IC50 value of 0.64 μM and a Ki value of 1.15 μM against human PTP1B. PTP1B-IN-34 reduces blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. PTP1B-IN-34 can be used in research related to type 2 diabetes.

Biological Activity
PTP1B-IN-34 (compound 5a) potently inhibits full-length recombinant human PTP1B (hPTP1B1-400) with an IC50 of 0.64 μM[1].
PTP1B-IN-34 inhibits truncated recombinant human PTP1B (PTP1B1-285) with an IC50 of 3.93 μM. The potency of this compound is reduced compared with full-length PTP1B, indicating that its optimal inhibitory activity depends on the disordered C-terminal domain[1].
PTP1B-IN-34 (1 μM) significantly enhances insulin-induced GLUT4 mRNA expression in C2C12 myoblasts[1].
