(RS)-AMPA hydrobromide ((±)-AMPA hydrobromide) is the racemate of AMPA. (RS)-AMPA hydrobromide is a glutamate analogue and a potent, selective agonist of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamic acid. (RS)-AMPA hydrobromide does not interfere with the binding sites of kainate or NMDA receptors.
