Description

Schizanrin D (Schizarin D) is a C18 Dibenzocyclooctadiene lignin. Schizanrin D can be derived from dried stems of Kadsura matsudai. Schizanrin D inhibits HBeAg production. Schizanrin D is inactive in vitro against HIV replication[1].

In Vitro

Schizanrin D (10-20 μg/mL; 3 days) inhibits HBeAg production in MS-G2 cells at 10 μg/mL (20.6 μM) with a 25.8% decrease but is cytotoxic at 20 μg/mL (41.3 μM)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

ELISA Assay[1]

Cell Line: MS-G2 cells (HBV DNA-integrated hepatoblastoma-derived cell line)
Concentration: 10 μg/mL (20.6 μM); 20 μg/mL (41.3 μM)
Incubation Time: 3 days
Result: Inhibited HBeAg production with a 25.8% decrease at 10 μg/mL (20.6 μM); Caused cytotoxicity with an AST value of 47.8 IU/L (indicating cell damage) at 20 μg/mL (41.3 μM).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
