1. Anti-infection Metabolic Enzyme/Protease
  2. Bacterial Antibiotic Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase
  3. Andrimid

Andrimid is a peptide Antibiotic and acetyl-CoA carboxylase inhibitor. Andrimid is produced by symbiotic bacteria of the genus *Enterobacter* residing in the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens. Andrimid exhibits strong specific activity against Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae. Andrimid shows no or only weak activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including most plant pathogenic bacteria. Andrimid can be used in studies related to bacterial infections and rice bacterial blight.

Description

Andrimid is a peptide Antibiotic and acetyl-CoA carboxylase inhibitor. Andrimid is produced by symbiotic bacteria of the genus *Enterobacter* residing in the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens. Andrimid exhibits strong specific activity against Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae. Andrimid shows no or only weak activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including most plant pathogenic bacteria. Andrimid can be used in studies related to bacterial infections and rice bacterial blight[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Andrimid (0.1 μg/mL) potently inhibits Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae strain NIAES 1225 with an MIC of 0.1 μg/mL and shows strong, specific activity against all tested Southeast Asian and Japanese X. campestris pv. oryzae strains, with significantly reduced activity against other bacterial pathovars and pathogens[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
