KARI 101
KARI 101 is a blood-brain barrier permeable acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) inhibitor. KARI 101 directly inhibits ASM activity and reduces ceramide production. KARI 101 induces Ca2+ mobilization, activates AMPK and triggers GHSR1α internalization. KARI 101 can be used for the research of Alzheimer's disease.

Biological Activity
KARI 101 binds to purified acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) protein with high affinity[1].
KARI 101 inhibits the activity of secretory acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) in the supernatant of fibroblasts from PS1 familial Alzheimer's disease[1].
KARI 101 acts as a potent GHSR1α agonist in HEK293A cells overexpressing GHSR1α, with an EC50 of 188.5 nM[1].
