Description

M&B 4935 is an orally active Amoebicide. M&B 4935 reduces the levels of *Entamoeba histolytica* parasites in rodents. M&B 4935 can be used for the research of amoebiasis^[1].

All Parasite Isoforms :

In Vitro

M&B 4935 (24 h) exhibits amoebicidal activity against Entamoeba histolytica in vitro when tested as processed caecal extract, reducing the average Parasite Index to 0.3 and clearing 4/6 of test tubes of amoebae^[1].

In Vivo

M&B 4935 (1.0 g/kg; p.o.; 5 divided doses over 72 hours) exhibits in vivo amoebicidal activity in weanling rats with experimental Entamoeba histolytica caecal infection, reaching 74% of the activity of M&B 4321, and has a single-dose oral LD₅₀ of 1.5 g/kg in rats^[1].
