Bayer 9017
Bayer 9017 is an insecticide with plasma cholinesterase inhibitory activity and toxicity. Bayer 9017 inhibits plasma cholinesterase activity in chicks. Bayer 9017 prevents the colonization of Lucilia sericata larvae, kills first-instar Lucilia sericata larvae, and provides myiasis protection for sheep, with seasonal variations in its protective performance. Bayer 9017 is applicable to research related to myiasis.

Biological Activity
Bayer 9017 (250-400 ppm; medicated bath immersion; single dose) provides sheep with complete protection against myiasis for at least 10-20 weeks and partial protection for 14-24 weeks[2].
Bayer 9017 (400 ppm; administered via a single dipping treatment) provides 16-26 weeks of protection against artificial myiasis in Romney sheep, with a residual duration of 18-30 weeks in wool[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model:Single Comb White Leghorn cockerels (10- to 12-day-old)[1]
-
Dosage:17.9 mg/kg (acute study); 200-800 ppm (subacute study)
-
Administration:p.o.; single dose (acute study); daily; 3 weeks (subacute study)
-
Result:Determined an LD50 of 17.9 mg/kg, with all deaths emerging within 8 hours after exposure.
Triggered full lethality by week 2 at 800 ppm, accompanied by 5% week 1 mortality, 94% plasma cholinesterase suppression and reduced week 1 weight-gain ratio of 0.77.
Produced cumulative 45% mortality by week 3 at 400 ppm, including 0% week 1 death and 25% week 2 death; brought about 92% week 1 and 100% week 2 plasma cholinesterase inhibition, alongside lowered week 1 and week 2 weight-gain ratios of 1.01 and 1.12.
Led to zero mortality within 3 weeks at 200 ppm, induced 83% week 1 and 86% week 2 plasma cholinesterase inhibition, and generated decreased week 1 weight-gain ratio of 1.30 and week 2 ratio of 1.36; surviving subjects exhibited growth exceeding control levels after early exposure stage.
