6-Methoxy DMT is a serotonin receptor ligand. 6-Methoxy DMT can bind to agonist-labeled and Ketanserin (HY-10562)-labeled 5-HT2A receptors. The Ki value of 6-Methoxy DMT for rat 5-HT2A is 3960 nM. 6-Methoxy DMT can bind to 5-HT1A receptors, with a rat Ki of 1210 nM.

6-Methoxy DMT (100 μM; 30 min) binds to rat 5-HT2A receptors expressed in NIH-3T3 cells with Ki = 3960 nM, to rat 5-HT1A receptors expressed in CHO cells with Ki = 1210 nM, and to rat 5-HT2C receptors expressed in A-9 cells with Ki >10000 nM[1].
