P2Y Receptor Inhibitor

Clopidogrel is an orally active platelet inhibitor that targets P2Y12 receptor. Clopidogrel is used to inhibit blood clots in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cerebrovascular disease.

YM-254890 is a selective G_αq/11 protein inhibitor isolated from Chromobacterium sp. YM-254890 shows no inhibition of other G protein subtypes. YM-254890 inhibits platelet aggregation induced by ADP by blocking the P2Y₁ signal transduction pathway, with an IC₅₀ value below 0.6 μM.

(±)-Clopidogrel bisulfate inhibits the binding of ADP to its receptors on the membranes of platelet cells, and blocks ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex. (±)-Clopidogrel bisulfate reduces vascular inflammation and angiotensin II induced-abdominal aortic aneurysm progression. (±)-Clopidogrel bisulfate has anti-inflammatory effects.
