Antimalarial agent 63 is an inhibitor of Plasmodium falciparum. Antimalarial agent 63 exhibits inhibitory activity against field isolates of Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. Antimalarial agent 63 shows an antagonistic interaction when used in combination with Proguanil (HY-B0806) against Plasmodium falciparum. Antimalarial agent 63 has low cytotoxicity to hepatocytes and a high selectivity index. Antimalarial agent 63 can be used in the research of malaria^[1].

Antimalarial agent 63 (compound 1b) potently inhibits chloroquine-sensitive Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain with an IC₅₀ of 14 nM, has low cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells (CC₅₀ = 8 μM), and a high selectivity index of 571^[1].
Antimalarial agent 63 does not exhibit cross-resistance to multidrug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum strains K1, Dd2, and 3D7^R_MMV848, with resistance indexes below 5^[1].
