After bioactivation, Anticancer agent 318 exerts antiproliferative activity in breast cancer cells expressing CYP1. Anticancer agent 318 can be used in the research of breast cancer.

The anticancer agent 318 potently inhibits the proliferation of CYP1-expressing breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-468 (IC50 = 0.08 μM) and TCDD-induced MCF-7 (IC50 = 0.006 μM), shows no toxicity toward non-tumorigenic MCF-10A cells (IC50 = 100 μM), and its activity depends on CYP1-mediated bioactivation[1].
The anticancer agent 318 (0-30 min) is metabolized by CYP1A1, CYP1A2 and CYP1B1 (but not CYP3A4) enzymes, producing four distinct metabolites via demethylenation, O-demethylation and hydroxylation reactions[1].
