Paecilaminol
Paecilaminol is an amino alcohol and NADH-fumarate reductase inhibitor (IC50 = 5.1 μM against Ascaris suum) that also inhibits both helminth and mammalian mitochondrial complexes I and III, exhibiting antifungal, antibacterial, nematocidal, insecticidal, and cancer cell growth-inhibitory activities. Paecilaminol can be used in research on helminth infections.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Paecilaminol inhibits the growth of human cancer cell lines K562, MCF-7, HL-60, and BGC-823 and acts as an NADH-fumarate reductase inhibitor[1].
Paecilaminol (100 μg/mL) exhibits antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger ATCC6275 and Mucor racemosus IFO4581, with an MIC of 100 μg/mL[2].
Paecilaminol (12.5-25 μg/mL) shows antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Micrococcus luteus, and Mycobacterium smegmatis[2].
Paecilaminol inhibits Ascaris suum NADH-fumarate reductase with an IC50 of 5.1 μM, and this inhibition is not affected by the presence of 30 mg/mL bovine serum albumin[5].
Paecilaminol exhibits nematicidal and insecticidal activities, with a minimum inhibitory concentration for growth of 20 μg/mL against C. elegans and 5 μg/mL against A. salina[5].
