Description

Tunicamycin X (Tunicamycin 17:1) is a nucleoside Antibiotic. Tunicamycin X is isolated from Streptomyces xinghaiensis SCSIO S15077. Tunicamycin X acts as a growth inhibitor against bacteria and fungi. Tunicamycin X inhibits the growth of Bacillus thuringiensis strains. Tunicamycin X inhibits the growth of Candida albicans strains[1].

In Vitro

Tunicamycin X potently inhibits the growth of Bacillus thuringiensis BT01 (MIC = 0.063 μg/mL) and Bacillus thuringiensis W102 (MIC = 0.016 μg/mL)[1].
Tunicamycin X moderately inhibits the growth of Candida albicans ATCC 96901 (MIC = 16 μg/mL) and Candida albicans CMCC (F) 98001 (MIC = 8.0 μg/mL)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
