L-Azatyrosine
L-Azatyrosine is an antitumor Antibiotic. L-Azatyrosine is present in Streptomyces chibanensis. L-Azatyrosine inhibits the growth of K-ras-transformed cells without affecting wild-type cells. L-Azatyrosine exhibits anticancer activity against prostate cancer. L-Azatyrosine can be used in studies related to prostate cancer.

Biological Activity
|
Microbial Metabolite |
K-RAS |
L-Azatyrosine inhibits the growth of NIH3T3 cells transformed by the K-ras oncogene, while exerting almost no effect on wild-type cells[2].
L-Azatyrosine induces Ras-mediated differentiation of PC12 cells and potently inhibits the tumorigenic growth of androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines including TSU-Prl, DU-145 and PC-3, restoring them to a non-tumorigenic phenotype[2].
